Head-Large and high, deeply sunken between the eyes (medial furrow). the circumference of the head should be equal to or greater than the dog's height at the shoulder.
Muzzle-Broad, deep and short. The bite is undershot. Faults: head too small, muzzle to long (more than 3 inches), scissor or even bite.
Eyes-wide apart and of moderate size; any color is acceptable.
Nose-wide, may be any color except pink (a small amount is acceptable) The nose must not be pushed up between the eyes. From the stop to the end of the nose must be at least an inch.
Neck-Short and very muscular.
Chest-Ribs should be well rounded and the chest wide and deep.
Back-Short with a slight rise from the shoulders to the rump (level back is just as acceptable).
Legs-Forelegs should be stout and wide apart, neither bowing out or turning in.
Feet-Round and the pasterns should be strong.
Size-Males, 17 to 23 inches at the shoulder. Weight: between 60-90 lbs. Females, 15 to 21 inches at the shoulder. Weight:50 to 80 lbs. (No penalty for dogs above the sizes as long as the dog is well proportioned).
Color-Any except merle. The coat should be short.
Ears-Short either drop or rose. May be cropped short, of no importance.
Tail-Naturally reaches near the hock or screwed short. May be docked, of no importance.
General description- The perfect Olde English Bulldogge should be of medium height to large size with a massive head and a very stout, muscular body. The disposition should be equable, but courageous. Most importantly the OEB is a healthy dog w/o many of the problems affecting the modern bulldogs. Males should be free breeders and females should be free whelpers. The OEB should be devoid of all breathing problems.
