RESERVING OR PURCHASING A PUPPY FROM COTTON SOX AUSSIES:
THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW:. . A book I really recommend everyone buy BEFORE they get their puppy is "How to be your Dog's Best Friend" The Monks of New Skete. They use training methods they have used for many years and really works well with most breeds, and can make your experience of getting a puppy much easier for both of you they have many tried and true training methods that will make your puppy or dog more of a member of your family. Also a good breed specific book can be well worth your while. There are many out there that are very good and lots of online information so you aren't surprised with the actions of your Aussie puppy. You need to also be aware, that puppies need to receive all of their vaccinations (4 months of age) before you take them to high traffic areas where dogs have been, like parks, and rest areas. Even though a puppy has had it's shots, it can still get sick, so be careful. I would avoid these areas if at all possible. Feed a good quality puppy food for the puppies first year. I feed Purina ProPlan, chicken and rice formula, which can be purchased at most stores that carry pet food products. There are several other really good brands of dog food. I do not recommend feeding your puppy or dog table scraps, or people food but an occasional treat doesn't hurt. If for some reason, you can not keep your dog, please contact me first. I may be able to help you place the dog in a different loving home, or even care for the dog myself, until it can be placed in a different home. Please do not take your dog to a shelter. Think seriously before purchasing a puppy, as this should be a life long commitment.
DEPOSITS :
Puppies are not considered sold until the deposit of $200.00 has been RECEIVED. The waiting lists on upcoming litters are filled in the order the waiting list deposits are received. And the remaining balance is due when you pick up your puppy, or if the puppy is being shipped, the remaining balance, plus shipping expense is due one week prior to the shipping date. You can send a money order, or cashiers check, or use Paypal (includes a 3% fee). I will send pictures when the puppy is born, and every 2 weeks after that so you can see the progress of your puppy. you can contact me via e-mail, and I can send a request for payment thru PayPal, and then you just follow the instructions. Deposits are non-refundable, unless the puppy fails a vet check. I can Microchip puppies raised here at Cotton Sox Aussies.I use Avid microchips, when microchipping my puppies, and if you want more information on Avid Microchips, you can go to www.avidmicrochips.com.
SHIPPING AND PICKING UP YOUR PUPPY :
Shipping is available to almost anywhere that has a major airport in the United States. I don't ship out of the United States, and I ship using Continental Airlines, out of MCI (Kansas City). I use Continental Airlines because they ship in a climate controlled cabin, instead of the cargo area, so if you are having the puppy shipped to an airport they send live animals to, the temperature doesn't matter. But Continental doesn't ship live animals to all airports. You may need to be flexible, and willing to drive a little further to an airport spending a half a day to get your new puppy is very little to devote when they will be with you 10-12 years. I do like to work these issues out before any monies has been exchanged. The normal charge for shipping is Appro. $350. that includes the crate, health certificate, and the travel and expense of shipping the puppy. I do live 2 hours from Kansas City one way, so it takes me most of the day to get to the airport, and check your puppy in, and wait for the flight to leave, and then return home. If you are close enough to drive, I will work with you to make that as easy as possible. Once the reservation has been made, the shipping expense can not be refunded, unless the puppy fails to pass the vet check for his or her health certificate.
