Bart ~ rescue ~ German Shepherd
from Bart:
My name is Bart. I am also a rescue from the Kentucky kill shelter.
I was kept on a two foot chain the first year of my life,
I ended up at the shelter and was, like Bubba, scheduled to be "put down" in the morning.
I only weighed 47 lbs and could not walk as I had not had enough room on the chain to stand up.
Kimberly saw big ears and my big brown eyes pleading to be saved.
I was rescued and came home to Michigan to a large canine family and lots of love,
And Food! I could not get enough.
After a month of watching the dogs run and walk I gave up my "invisible" chain and learned to stand straight, walk amd run!
I have gained proper weight, my coat is beautiful,
and I fell in love with Sonnenschen, a black German Shepherd.
Sonnenschen taught me how to be a shepherd.
I am house trained, crate trained, leash trained, my hips & elbows have been tested and are good.
I am up to date on vaccines and heartworm preventive.
I am not fond of cats and prefer a home without them
or the understanding and knowledge to continue my training to be around them.
I am also sweet, lovable, smart and handsome, they say!
I am a big boy, 90 lbs.
Here are my pictures
Update: Bart has been adopted!!!
Congratulations to Mike of Livonia

Bubba Rufus ~ rescue ~
from Bubba:
Woof, my name is Bubba Rufus.
I was stuck, and I mean stuck in an all kill shelter in Kentucky.
I was scheduled to be "put down" in the morning...
I did not know, I just knew I was scared, hungry, lonely,
afraid of people and did not know love.
All of a sudden, people were "pulling" dogs.
I did not know what this was.
What I knew was the shelter was full, dogs everywhere, and
there was no room inside for me and my friends.
I was outside, in the dark in a pen with two other guys, Snoops and Harvey.
Snoops was quiet and shy like me, Harvey was the wild guy!
All of a sudden the door opened and a girl walked out and looked at us,
saying "I will take them".
I was scared. I did not know what was to happen.
Well, we drove from Kentucky to Michigan and when the truck stopped,
there was a big yard for us to play in, run around and be guys, and there was food!
Man, was I hungry!
That was a year and a half ago, Snoops and Harvey have been adopted!
I was even more shy than Snoops and it took me a little longer to learn
that I could be a dog and love being one!
Now, I give and receive kisses and hugs, love to be petted.
I now know how to walk on a leash and I am house trained!
I am a super sweet, sensitive guy. I weigh 50 lbs.
I like all dogs, cats and horses.
I love people, I am still a little shy at first but warm up fast.
I have been neutered (ouch!) and I am up to date on vaccines and heartworm preventive.
Are you looking for a super sweet, sensitive, lovable guy ?
I just might be your dog!
Here are pictures of me
